Guest CharlieC
Heres one the old bitch caught that didnt make it to the air quick enough. I get a few bits and bobs of feather with my dogs, particularly the older two who have learned not to shy off at the noise of a rising pheasant and to put their heads under water when a duck dives She put up 2 huge geese on a nest of about 10 goslings tonight, and what a bloody fright we got I saw a brown thing in the reeds next to the Clyde and thought it was a hare the next thing these 2 enormous geese got up, what a noise those buggers make. Dont know much about geese but they were grey with orange beaks, and got very angry when we disturbed their nest :realmad: Luckily neither of the dogs showed any interest in them, as it appeared we had attracted the attention of the gamey as well :11:  :11: Who took a walk over to see us, but wasnt much he could say really as we hadnt caught owt else (got a rabbit on the way home) My mates pup is coming along nicely, starting to use her nose and hunt up and its all gradually falling into place. If she does a wee bit now she will hopefully know what the games all about this coming season. Cant wait, I dont have much to run myself, but it will be good to watch my mates pup progress, hes had a bad run of things injury wise so hopefully this bitch will give him a few seasons worth of work. Good hunting (err I mean shooting and trapping and snaring of course ) Quote Link to post
Guest Corkonian
Your bitch Bridget got her mouth around a heron the other day. She was the furthest away but the rest of my gang scattered when it rose out of a ditch She knew what she was doing alright - lightening! Thank God she only got a mouthful of feathers though - powerful bird - pulled away no problem. Quote Link to post
