breeding rabbiters

Recommended Posts

if people before than ban was looking to breed a litter of dogs for vulpine pest control,im told that most dogmen would have bred from single handed animals that would have seen a few seasons work, hopefully increasing the chances of producing good working stock, whats the sort of bench mark for breeding rabbiting dogs,if there is one :whistling::big_boss:

looking on some of the forums that seem to be mainly used by rabbiters, there seems to be no hard and fast veiws other than breeding from young animals,i saw a post today askin if the genes and semen would be improved if the dog was any older, the stud im told is not even a yr old so hardly a worked whippet is it. :icon_eek:

F*ck that, you don't really know what ANY dog is capable of unless you have seen it work a few seasons . . . . . i'd say about the 4 yr mark being the start of when you can think about breeding from it. Unless it is the absolute best you can lay your hands on - why bother?
