NZ BOAR HUNTER WOULD LIKE TO BE TAKEN OUT TO SEE WILD BOAR IN FOREST OF DEAN.

Recommended Posts

In the right country, dead cattle are great bait to bring in a boar. Seems to be more effective in some areas than others and we think it is a mineral deficiency thing. In some country it is automatic that if you drop a scrub bull you will get a boar on it when the bull is 'ripe'. Boars don't open up a bull (or a cow) like you think they might. They wait for it to decay to super soft or it is opened up by something else.

The trail cam footage is of a boar on one of our baits a while ago. Note how the dingo just waits its turn...

Cheers.

Ned Ive found that too I've tended to think it was due to the amount of natural feed about like if they are around crops they will eat the crop over the dead cow of sheep, also in the colder months here baits wont work so well unless they have been dropped earlier in the summer and had time to go off
