NOOK/ANNA 96
Alrite folks. Just wondering how you guy's deal with a feeding a new dog when it's a fussy eater? What has been the longest a dog went without eating what you're putting down for it when you just got it? Edited May 12, 2010 by NOOK/ANNA
caol_an 0
i got one a few weeks ago and wouldnt touch his food and wouldnt sleep in the kennel. After a day or two when he didn't eat the food first time or just took a few nibbles i took it off him and put him back in the run. it took about 2 days but he started eating then, he must have been starving but it worked. I wouldn't say that's the best way but it worked for me.
sascha 7
if its a pup it should be on a diet similar to what the breeder fed it, its a big enough shock for it leaving its litter mates, a good breeder would give you a few days supply of food. if its a adult mix it with raw mince gradually reducing the mince till he get the idea, a dog will eat anything when its hungry enough. hope this helps
