morning can anyone help me out please, just got back into fishing and would like to no some good rivers and ponds around the area. im not after carp. just tench,chubb,roach, ect ? cheers

Sorry guys, can't help you with an answer. But does anyone fish rivers anymore? i hardly ever see an angler fishing the Severn, Trent, Soar or Avon nowadays. Was driving back from Ely awhile ago, and took in as many drains as i could on the way home. Only saw one guy fishing. Shame, i used to like running a Stick float down the Trent. I remember walking 5 fields to fish a match on the Old Streach of the Trent near Burton. Knackered when i got there, and bollacksed when i got back. Good days.

Same here. I don't go Fishing much now though.

 

Was reading a Fishing forum the other day and one of the posts was saying that in the 80s the Soar champs got 300 anglers, the 90s 150. He said they'd be lucky to get 25 now. I guess most folks prefer to be close to thier car, so fish commercials now. What with all the scum stealing everything and so on.......And the rivers being poor fishing now.
