Never heard snaring was being banned, I wonder where Sinn Fein stand on it because I know they are in support of fieldsports and are fighting the greens new bill in the south.

I believe that sinn fein were Antis ,maybe im wrong ,but looking at their last

election campaign they were running along side the goverment with a

hunting ban in the north .

thats true asked them at my door what mandate they had for hunting an said they hadnt one

im laughing i know a very educated guy who,s into his huntig big time and

he run them up the path as they didn,t support hunting with dogs .

Someone put up a link of their view on hunting in the south where they were defending the ward union stag hunt and how they saw hunting and rural pursuits as a part of the countryside and that they should be kept.

There is a whole lot of confusion on Hares in Northern Ireland........From what I believe, The Brown Hare was still fair Game...But the Irish Hare is banned until September...

I know people who called and wrote to several people who work in these areas of law to get some sort of clarification on what the actual law was, and NOBODY really knew...

There was a thing on BBC Newsline few weeks back about the Hare population. people from Queens done an all Ireland survey and they found that the Hare population was strongest and increasing where coursing happened because the Hares were looked after by the coursing clubs in those areas so bread more. the anti's must of loved that lol i tried to find it on their website after it was on the T.V but it wasn't there.

I saw it too....The Hare population in the South has increased due to conservation work from coursing clubs.
