please use this link to help get a petition so all dog pounds have to use a found dog data base as there is pounds taken dogs in that dont report it an prevent unclaimed dogs being putdown

The main problem is anyone can breed a dog irrespective. Once chipped a dog can be sold on and no one is made responsible for keeping the chip details updated.

 

Dogs are left on street/ fields & wherever. They are picked up and taken to kennels.

 

Doglost and others print posters -notify sites like this- check microchips- and yet over half will not be claimed- WHY???

 

Because the council levies a charge- NOT the kennels- the council, the amount of dogs that stay in kennels because owners cant/dont want to pay.

90% dont wear a collar, or a tag, rarely are they chipped or tattood.

 

IF owners were more responsible then more dogs would be back home sooner. Instead unless we can get them out of certain pounds they will be PTS- simple as .

Try sleeping on a night knowing that some ones pet will die tomorrow- because it isnt wearing a collar, tag or chip. All which cost less than £20.

not sure why it aint workin but not so worried about the careless owners and there dogs but more about people who have theres stole which want them back like we did with ours when they were took as we no a woman lucky in a dog pound in herts that was getting 5 lurchers a week in and not reporting them on any found site but checking through for ours wonder how many of them was peoples stolen ones tho like 1 of ours which was dumped in stoke lucky by chance we got her back cause she was put up for rehoming and found by alison on doglost another person also told us how some of the microchips have been cut out of some of the dogs she has taken in so only left purely down to recognising your dog but if people are that heartless not to find the money to get there dog back they didnt deserve it in the first place we had to travel 100 mile and pay £120 to get ours back out of the dog pound she was in.
