Yeah but if we "name and shame" we won't get the info. As it stands now some good folk will give us the tip we need to get them back and know they will not be dropped in the sh**. Doglost has a confidentiality policy, the dogs come first every time. We leave it to the owners to sort out any issues once the dogs are safe.

You are right Doe - (Doe joined to try help the Southern Area- I'm in the North), plus we do have a lot of people working with us behind the scenes and its taken a while for members on this forum to realise we are not antis, local loonies or out to get info.

We have access to god knows how many pounds, I run my own rescue & have tried to retrace owners of dogs that come through the pounds I deal with.

Frustrating as it is - I post 'found' dogs or links to pounds where dogs are. Its obvious they are working dogs- yet they never get claimed or belong to anyone.

A lot of these dogs we can via the rescue get back without charge. Personally I'd insist on a dog been chipped before letting it go back at the very least.

But to get your dogs back we need your help

PLEASE- take photos

Please - microchip dogs

DONT - leave them in you car/van/pick up unattended

KEEP- the Doglost number in your phone 0844 800 3220 we dont care if you work you're dog or not. If its missing or nicked its in danger, and needs finding

I agree if you FIND some-one with YOUR dog- name and shame them by all means. If you KNOW dog thieves & reg numbers- let us have them by PM. We have our own forum that ONLY co-ordinators can get access to. We can & will check them out.

We do have travellers on our side. I know they get blame for everything but they are not all bad. We do need to work together on this.

ANYTHING- you pm either Doe or Myself with will only go to the Doglost private forum. No member of the public has access and it is only co-ordinators who can access it.

No one will know who gave us info. We do want to help you get your dogs back, they are better kept than a lot of others.

It does annoy us that people think its ok just to steal others dogs. But I cant say it enough PLEASE MICROCHIP THEM- it may not stop them being nicked but IF they goes missing and chip notified who ever takes the dogs to the vets WILL have action taken- even if its only to get the dog back

I also think if yours got nicked & you found who had it - you give em a bl**dy good hiding and dont blame you for then either
