Im using some fenn traps in tunnels around my chicken shed, and all the gamekeepers ive been with etc have used two sticks on the entrances of the tunnel please can someone turn on the light for this.

It's to stop anything bigger than a rat (non targets) getting to the trap.

 

Rat likes a 2" hole. Try this: Drive in two bits of batton against the end, side walls of the tunnel. Use them as a support to put some natural rocks against, leaving about a 2" hole. That way, ye can lift the tunnel, to inspect the trap, without the rocks collapsing :good:

or nail a piece of ply on the ends with a 2" hole in them
