carp fishing

Recommended Posts

just having a browse through a few photos of my fishing days, before the misus and kids came along :11: used to travell great distances then in search of big fish, these days fish of this size are a lot more regular ,and more widespread,i hear of a lot of big fish are now being imported into the country, but apart from the imports, what do you think is the biggest contributor to the vast amounts of big fish being caught, changes in bait, water managment..?not just carp, other freshwater spieces, they all seem to be getting bigger..

I have seen a few cyprys in the 24 odd years that I have been carp fishing...........and that my man is a cracker

Two main reasons for the rise in general sizes IMHO, milder weather all year round and more people (every man & his dog  ) jumping on the carp fishing bandwagon.

The big name baits are without a doubt good quality food sources and people buy the hype!

Success in a bag I think they call it :11: (SSSHHH...dont tell em that carp will eat any good quality food source as long as you apply it correctly ;) )

I shouldnt really tell you that as I am a field tester :11:

I have grown more dissallusioned with carp fishing of late, so much bullshit surrounds it and every jonny come lately is starting up "CARPIN!"

The so called big name impress me even less, they write there crap week in, week out in the carp weeklys.....and its just that......CRAP!

I know and have fished with a few of these boys and to see people in awe of them at events like THE CARP SHOW make me smile more than a little

I now compare carp angling to little more than put & take trout fishing in lots of lakes in the UK............

Still....whatever rocks your boat............

For now I have packed up untill a ticket turns up that will light my fire again (an english 40 or 50 :hmm: ) and I dont have to fish with 2 minute wonders or mag writers that are more intrested in the £££££££

(or Julian Cundiffe ;) )

The trees have thrown me a bit Tufty, but that looks very much like a fish from The M.............where the ANNIE lives?????

They tend to throw that shape in the shallow Essex pits..................
