joshmarto 13 Posted November 28, 2009 Report Share Posted November 28, 2009 got a lurcher hes nearly twelve months old now and i was thinking of getting a ferret but dont no if my dog will be ok with a ferret any ideas on introducing them i no i should of got one when he was very young but never got around to getting one.do you think i should muzzle him for the first encounter just in case he grabs it?or is that a bit too much? john rust 45 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Share Posted November 29, 2009 Ive just gone through this with my whippet and 3 terriers. I got them to the cage first(one at a time) and took the ferret out saying mine which means mine, I use this to take everything off the dogs. Then slowly started letting the ferret on the floor and stood by the dog again saying mine, they soon get it. Theres only my border that I can't trust, I thinks its because hes had rats.
