Guest craftycarper
Well i posted my fac application on Friday and just gets a phone call today from the met firearms guy saying everything looks all right mate except you didn't put in a letter from the landowner saying that you could shoot a 22 rimfire on the land the letter you sent in only covers shottie and air rifle. Don't quite understand this as i thought that was up to them to contact the landowner, i mean this guy knows the land well, i have filled out all the landowners details and provided a copy of the permission letter i carry on me, if he has rung me why couldn't he have rung the landowner? i mean do i take it that if i provide a written letter from the owner that they are just gonna accept it and not contact them thereselves  crikey if thats the case could have wrote it myself never mind will get the other letter tonight and will keep you posted on the rest of the process Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
You have to have permission in writing, for the calibre you wish to use on the land, and its a legal requirement at night, with any gun. Here,s a tip, if the landowner will allow it, get them to put down, you can use any calibre of rifle, that you own.It saves you going back to them , for another letter, if you get a bigger calibre. Guest baldie
Here,s another time buddy. I have a standard permission form, which i typed out, and photocopied, you can even type in the landowners name and address.Something like this.... I................................ [landowners name, put it in yourself] of...............[full address], hereby give permission to...........[ your name and address and phone number] to shoot all vermin species , deer , and game [delete as applicable] by day or night [ vermin only at night].He may use any calibre rifle he owns, and the land is suitable for, also shotgun, airweapon, dogs, ferrets [ again delete as applicable] signed......................inc date................. All he needs do is sign and date it, if he,s too busy to do that, he,s pissing you about mate. Quote Link to post
