ziggy1 0 Posted September 4, 2006 Report Share Posted September 4, 2006 I let them see each other through the cage at first. Them if he trys to snap at the cage tell him no. Them gradly start to hold the ferret let the dog sniff around the ferret. Them put the ferret on the floor let the dog get use to him even put a bowl of milk and let them drink out of it together. But don,t forget puppy are playful with there paws and you don,t want the ferret biting the dog. THAT how i do mine and it has never failed touch wood. Quote Link to post

I introduced my terrier pup to the ferret today. pup is 8wks old No the ferret has'nt got holdof the pups ear They've just had some chicken mince together. Quote Link to post

Guest tazdastokmaker Posted September 4, 2006 Report Share Posted September 4, 2006 when i tryed to interduse the ferrets to my staffy x last year she just runs away from them but i got hir ust to them and now i put hir in the cort and she dose try to get out but after a minnit of them clyimg all over hir she is f9 but if i get the ferret box out she dose run then for some reasion and a ferret hasent ever done anaythin to hir tho Quote Link to post
dickyboy 1 Posted September 4, 2006 Report Share Posted September 4, 2006 i introduced my dog at 8months he hadn't seen a ferret i just showed him like ziggy said but then i put the dog in sit stay and let the ferrets play in the garden he just sits and watches then i let him sniff them when he's ready if he snapped he gets told no, he trys to pin them down............i let the ferrets nip him but he's not allowed to do anything back just i ncase i'm working two or 3 and one slips past me and gets him i know he's safe with being bitten Quote Link to post
