Nightvision monocular

I'm not sure quite where to post this, but I guess here is as good as anywhere. A friend who does a lot of deer management work is looking for a nightvision thingy to use with an IR filter on a lamp for counting deer, he would love to use a thermal imager but cant afford one so it needs to be a reasonably priced nightscope. He isnt interested in shooting at night and so doesn't want a nightsight as such but rather one of those nightvision monocular thingies. My question then, is has anyone on here done this, if so how well does it work, what range can you count deer at night with a good IR filter on a lamp and what make and model of nightvision thingy would you recommend? to get the best from a nv monocular you can attach it to the rear of a high quality gun scope with good light gathering properties.clip the lamp/ir filter to the scope and away you go.doing it this way you get much more magnification by coming through the scope as nv monoculars are quite low magnification.the better quality the scope the better results you will get.

hi got some gen 2 for sale these more than good for what your freind wonts you can use theses with out ir only thing ir will do is show there eyes i use these for fox there best gen 2 + there is just below gen 3 if you use ir these be better than gen 3 as could look in dark woods see there eyes as you could not with gen 3 this set got for sale now you can also take photos with it

 

 

What sort of money are we talking about and how far away could you spot a muntie or a roe on a darkish night with no IR illumination?
