markyboy 0
does anybody set up a pattern near fallen beech mast and try and bag a few pigeons? i thought this was a last resort for them in harder weather when food was scarce? but was out a walk with dog today and must have been 100 pigeons sitting feeding on it.??? harrycatcat 31
No I haven't personally BUT the other day a farmer said to me "there's hundreds of pigeons around here but they are feeding on beech nuts" so I set up in a stubble field and the birds that I shot were full (their crops) of beech nuts. And I was thinking the same thing as you. The only thing is though it has not been bad weather here at all so you wouldn't have thought food would have been hard to find as farmers are still drilling winter barley and wheat. So it may not be a bad idea Quote Link to post
D.Onela 0
Hi Does anyone know what is being built on the plot of land next to Marmalade on Beech Rd. I notice they have levelled the land recently but Im not sure if they were just clearing all the rubbish or whether some construction is about to start. QQ Quote Link to post
