Hi there seeing some of the action shots that some members put up makes me want to try! But was wondering how much i would need to spend to get a workable set up that i wont have to replace to soon! Also some suggestions as to set ups being a complete novice!

Sean has hit the nail on the head...

Minimum requirements are a DSLR body and the cheapest lens (probably in the 70-200 or 70-300 zoom range) that you can get your hands on. Expect to spend upwards of £500 for the cheapest set-up.

But never fear, whatever camera body you get, unless it's something like five grands worth of Canon or Nikon, will be outdated within a few months of you purchasing it! Good lenses are worth the money though :)

Get youreself any of the canon bodies, and you can now knock up a canon 18/200 IS lens, for around £350,on ebay. This one will save you having to change lenses all the time, and the quality, and sharpness is exelent.Plus almost all youre hand held shots, will be spot on.Had one of these lenses, and used it a few times, before i got the offer of a clean swap, for the canon 70/200 L lens, that im using now.The shots of the black bitch, with the racing jacket on,in my topic NEW MEMBER.were taken with the 18/200 IS.
