slip leads

I dont use leads on my dogs :D except for walking them next to the road, as soon as we get to where were going, I let them off and they dont go back on the lead again, I hate having my dogs on the lead its a pain in the ass :D

If Im lamping 2 dogs, I just shove a bit string through the collar of the dog thats not being worked. Better than those expensive coursing toggle slips, used them in the past and the feckers always break after a bit of heavy use.

I actually have the same bit of straggly, soggy, bloodstained rope Ive had for about the last 5 or 6 years, so thats pretty good going :good::D

Personally i use the old bit of rope technique which is ideal for lamping, coursing etc when you are after something!!

If you go for the quick release button fitting one, most are rubbish and made in china of cheap tin, my old man had one 20 odd years ago which was a proper fitting made od solid brass and its taken me since then to find a replacement of suitable quality. I use em when walking daytime as it looks more of a lead than a piece of string...but you can still release the dog quickly if needs be

The europeans have a quick release system which is really popular, which is more of a clasp with a wheel to lock it......IMO these are really fiddly, see picture
