Going lamping for 1st time

Recommended Posts

We went out as planned, there was nothing on 1st half of field so we walked along the hedge to otherside of field, had a shine and there was only 2 bunnies out so we walked further along the hedge, slipped him on 1 that was probably a bit far away for his 1st try but he was on it like a bullet :hunter: he coursed it excellently but at one point we lost sight of them, shone light around and the rabbit had given Kylo the slip and had squatted in middle of field, we kept light on it hoping Kylo would see it, he did but not as quick as he should have done (i will work on him following the beam a bit more) once he had realised what was going on he chased it hard down along the hedgerow and followed it into cover at which point i turned the lamp off and he returned back within about 30 seconds :D gave him loads and loads of praise and decided that would be enough for the 1st night (seeing as there was no more rabbits on that field anyway!!)

Very very happy with him and boy WHAT A THRILL to see my dog running like that.

We both have alot to learn but i am confident that with more experience he will do what he was born to do :good:

Well done you will pick it up as you go along ,is their a few people you know who you can tag along with for a few nights dont pick up their bad habbits go with a few different ones and you will develop your own style try getting th dog back after every run dont start slipping on every rabbit whilst its of or you will have a job to correct that , most of all just enjoy :victory:
