Cajunrules 8
Went to a trout fishery at Wymeswold yesterday, fished all day without catching a single trout, had only one pull, which I missed. About 6pm I was moving to a different spot when I noticed a fish rumaging about in the mud just in the margin, so I cast this gold headed nymph a few feet beyond it and slowly twitched it back. When the nymph disappeared into the cloud of silt the fish had put up the line went tight Couple of minutes later after a decent fight, I netted my first fly caught carp. Was chuffed to bits!! fin and fur 2
Excellent, its surprising how succesful the good old nymph patterns can be for the Carp, i catch many on Pheasant tail nymphs which they seem to find irresistable. Quote Link to post
