Yellow skinned magpies

As a regular maggybasher I have noticed that a few of them have bright yellow skin on the head area instead of the normal bluish tinge, anyone else noticed this?

 

The middle one in the pic below has this vivid colouring if you look closely. I'll take a close-up pic of the head next time I get one.

they look like juveniles.........that could be the reason ???

 

or could be a dietry related thing..........high corn/grain content to its diet???........like corn fed chicken.

 

other than that.............havn't a clue or seen it before.

Yes they are all young ones but only one of them is yellow. I have only had one other like it and I've shot nearly 100.

Got another one today, here's a pic of it with a normal one. Pulled some feathers out to show the colours better.

This one has the yellow colour right down into the chest area as well. :blink:
