Foxgun Tom 75
The SACs show at Ingilston organised by SGF Events Ltd is cancelled http://www.selbygamefair.co.uk/calendar.htm I contacted the events office staff at Ingilston today and they informed me that they had been told the show was cancelled due to the current climate and a lack of interest by traders? This show was also advertised on the visit Scotland website as part of the homecoming celebrations, To say theyr'e was a lack of interest at any of the at any of the Homecoming events is a lie!! SACs got involved with an Arthur Daly type character and its came back and bit them on the arse? I actually resigned from SACs as their development Officer over SACs involvement with this guy and his company, as well as other issues! (The lack of positive action in promoting Lurcher and Terrier work despite promises being made to the contrary) Part of my remit as SAC'S former Development officer was to help secure sponsors and traders for events such as this! I personally can get sponsors no problem, because of my contancts here in Scotland, traders for this event were different kettle of fish they did'nt want to be associated with the event organisers, To say there is a lack of traders in the capital (Edinburgh) and Scotland at the time of this fair during the homecoming celebrations is laughable, some of the traders from South of the border are here still doing the show circuit, They just don't want to do business with the people involved in running this event Traders were happy and prepared to deal with me personally but as soon as the knew who the organisers were they did'nt want to know? One Welsh trader said he'd do anything for me! but he was'nt prepared to deal with the organisers, he said " I'm in Scotland that weekend and my diary is blank, I'd rather poke my eyes with a sharp stick thant deal with that mob", "Sorry Tom mate" The downside is even though personally vindicated and proved right! the homcoming celebrations have been blighted, Scottish fieldsports and working dog enthusiast have been let down and ignored, most SAC's members are not aware the show is cancelled until now? and SACs and Ian Clark have been deeply humiliated, I've also lost personal friends over the issue and I'm no longer a member of the organisation I loved, I also held out and olive branch to Ian Clark and Sacs a couple of days ago, only for it to be ignored Tom Below is a detail of a previous post: ________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________ "SACS" Gamefair Edinburgh 2009, there is no such thing? "SACS" have no involvement here except allowing the use of its name? its an outside events company that are organising the event, Some "SACS" trade members have refused to attend this event, many individual members are concerned about the company involved A well respected "SACS" management committee member resigned over the issue Ian clark as the Director took it onboard himself to commit "SACS to this event he had no discussion with the management commitee re: the matter and would'nt take advice from close friends or members? Ians reaction when told as Director was to do nothing I had been working on the "SACS" Sporting Dog Event" with other members since July 2008 I had secured some large major sponsors and was having discussions with Scotlands largest brewer, a major internet company were discussing supplying unique Scottish trophies for all the winners, This event was supposed to be part of the Scottish homecoming celebrations 2009, This dog event would have been the largest working dog event in the UK as part of the Gamefair at Edinburgh, the organisers of the "SACS" Gamefair at Edinburgh SGF Events Ltd, could not offer any financial commitment until March 2009?, to me and others involved this was unacceptable, as its alleged that sometimes promises of monies from these organisers was not always forthcoming. I was also not prepared to work promoting a Gamefair for someone else without financial support for months on end Ian Clark (SACS DIRECTOR) and"SACS" would also not commit themselves financially in advance despite the huge volume of work put in by trade and ordinary members Because of my resignation, I've handed back to SACS the cheque book for this event and gave sponsors back their funds as it wont be going ahead in the format discussed with them Tom Edited July 17, 2009 by Foxgun Tom
john hubery 9
Has a trader Tom I know where others are coming from, as for SAC'S not grabing hold of that olive branch, well only time will tell it might be one of the biggest mistakes they have made, its about time the hatch was burryed, with out you involved they must have lost a lot of surport for the dog world, I know my membership and many others has been left to run out and not be renewed, this is a shame, or may be they are happy to go the way of BASC
