SportingShooter 0
Hi Folks. In one corner of a pen I have here, there is not inconsiderable spring pool and seen as there has been a lot of rain lately, its quite fierce just now. There is no running water there, its just a large muddy patch and it then trickles off in all directions. Now my question is this, can it be harnessed in some way so that there can be running water through some sort of pipe and an enclosed pool so they can drink from it? I have had the idea of finding a galvanised scaffolding pole and slamming it down perhaps 8ft to see if the water will run up it. I had the idea from the old stirrup pump type contraptions, but i'd be hoping that the water can find its own way to the top. Any ideas? Quote Link to post

Guest Rod&dog
We used to dip a pipe and let the streams/springs run through them rather than let the birds have acsess to drink from the nayural water beacuse its easier to treat the bell drinkers when you need to give them medication. Ive found if you treat the water in the bell drinkers they will not like it and just drink from the spring in the pen. Quote Link to post
