waidmann 105
the doc says all is well. and so the police must have good reason to revoke your certificate,as neither a risk to yourself or others they should have no grounds to do so. if no medication ( physco pharmica) are being taken( are you allowed to drive? etc) then i see no reason to inform them if any change in your circumstances( it matters to the firearms officer not if you have a bad back/flu so why would he want to know about this?) i understand your concern, but as most of the chaps say you should be ok. it may be worth checking with a basc soliciter just to be on the safe side.it should not cost anything and can't harm. i wish you all the best and a speedy recovery. hope you are being looked after well by work and union. you lads do a real good job, unsung heroes of society and should be looked after in such cases. i'm glad to see such compassion and helpfull comments on this site. did you get any carp? ever tried fly fishing? give that a go very relaxing. get yourself to the game fair too and stuff a few burgers down you Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
Chum, good luck with your recovery and don't rush back. I had a bad accident a couple of years back, it finished me at work, but luckily I'd done enough to take pensions early. It was physical stuff but the effect on me was so great that it pushed me a bit close to the edge, so mI know where your'e at. It was a good 8 months before I could get out but it's the shooting and fishing that get me out of bed nowadays Perfect therapy Quote Link to post
moses 5
I was suffering from ptsd after a near fatal motrcycle accident i still applied for my sgc and after seeing my doctor he informed the fao that there was no reson he could see for not granting my license so dont panic aslong as your are not being treated for deprssion after stating you were having suicidle thoughts you'll be fine. i know how you feel i was terrified that they would not grant my license. and although it took nearly five months i got it yesterday.. chin up you'll be fine if your driving license has not been revoked they will not revoke your fac or sgc "Question 15c Most of the population apparently suffers from some kind of depression at some time or other. It does not preclude you from having a certificate unless the condition presents particular problems and, as at 15a, as a general principle, if you are healthy enough in mind and body to drive a car, you are also healthy enough to use a gun. Once again, if in any doubt ask your Doctor." as stated in basc's guidance on fire arms certificate application. hope this helps Edited September 9, 2009 by moses Quote Link to post
