CAMPING STOPPED AT RABY CASTLE!!

Recommended Posts

Contacted game and country fair events office a few weeks ago to pay for camping at Bedale and checked about camping at Raby Castle, was told that there was camping at Raby and to make sure we booked at least a week before so the tickets would arrive in time.

Phoned again on Thursday 02-07-09 to book and was told the camping had been stopped :o

Spoke with Tom and Carol on Sunday and they new nothing about the cancelling of camping.

Have had no look contacting Alan Tyre as yet but have been back in touch with the events office and they told us that 'the few that had already booked would still be allowed to camp' but they were not permitted to take any more bookings

Really dissapointed...but there is always pickering!!!

The event office only said they had been told by Raby Castle Estates during last week that there would no longer be any public camping. Sorry i am not much more help...but i am a relative local and they have deer roaming free which may be the issue...maybe this along with there being a lot of travellers that pass by that way, i am just guessing.
