madra 0
Great looking dogs. How do you keep up with them when they are hunting ? Are they easy to follow on foot ? Quote Link to post
Guest ferreting king
ive heard of a bloodhound that is 62 kilos! how much does your dog weigh Quote Link to post
Guest adamc
My male weighs around the 45 kilogram mark and the bitch is around 40 kilo. The country we hunt the sambar in is mountain country. Not like the Swiss Alps or anything but it is pretty rugged and forested. Most hunters are posted into spots that the deer have crossed before and the majority of hunting takes place on foot.Below is a pic of an area I hunted a few weeks back. The logged country attracts the deer with the fresh pick that becomes available after the burn. And 2 hunters heading in to their chosen spots in the gully. Quote Link to post
Guest Sumo
Awesome scenery mate. Your dogs must run them hard, as the samba in the second pic has tried to go to ground by the looks of things Quote Link to post
Guest adamc
Nah mate these bloodhounds are just average hunters compared to the foxhounds we used to be allowed to run.The bloodhounds push them along but the foxhounds used to push the deer hard till it made more mistakes and got taken or bailed up.
