Guest Scuba1
As the world's population grows, and there are ever greater requirements on natural resources, I wonder how long it will be before water becomes truly contentious? I am already aware of some problems with countries building hydro-electric dams and causing problems for other counrtries 'downstream'. I wonder if it will ever come to the point whereby people with the source of the river in their country may try to levy a tax on the supply of their water? Perhaps, even going to the point of saying "that's my cloud and if it rains on you then you owe me ........."? Of course, the owners of "the sources" have the ultimate bargaining chip because if us "down-streamers" don't pay they can always piss in the river, putting an end to my endeavour of making a really nice mug of tea. So what do you think?? Michael
