bigbulls 26
The whole flight is 8 X 12 X 8. The nest shelf is 6ft long and 3 ft deep and is just under 6ft high off the flight floor. Hope that these give enough of an idea of the set up. Since removing the old eggs i have been putting in a few bits of Larch and soft fir sprigs, im still feeding in small amounts roughly 4 - 6 times a day. Thanks for taking the time to look and any further input greatfully recived. Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Looks a good set up there BB . One thing to take account off which is not a critisim! looking at the perch in the picture is pretty high to the top of the aviary, personaly I would drop it a bit as don't when the male treads the female he will need some good head room to get onto her, I know they can copulate on the floor and other places but if the female is waving her Knickers at him on that high perch he is going to have a few problems getting his Rod in ..... what I have in my aviaries is corner perching 3/4 of the way up at the most on the oposite side of the nest ledge, the nest ledge is around 2.5ft from the top of the aviary which is 8ft high. Just took a couple if pic's which are pretty poor mate but I had to take them through the spyhole of the aviary, you can see the youngsters which there should be 4 somewhere on the ledge and roughly the top of the aviary, its not a hard and fast rule BB but just the way I do it mate which others will probably disagree...... atb Jasp Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
There's always that chance when you let a bird sit her eggs full term until Hatch huntingnightowl. I take mine after the she has been sitting them for around 8 - 10 days and finish them off in the Incubator, by the time this clutch has pipped in the Incubator the female has recycled on her second clutch, its then a case of rearing the chicks on to around 6 days and placing them back in the nest and pulling the second clutch eggs for Incubation.... Running chicks on for a few days and putting them back when they are a bit more hardy can be the safest way expecially with inexperienced birds..... Jasper Quote Link to post
