filling a pcp

can you charge a pcp using an oxygen bottle (ones used to help breathing? instead of a diving bottle? i know there obviously much smaller o you wont get no where near as much out of them but is it possible?

Noooooooo the parts in the gun have oils and grease on them and that does not go to well with oxygen. It would give you one bang out of the rifle, a big one mind you but just the one bang.

I would have to say no aswell jenksi87 but if you want to know for sure then go ask the guys at the dive centre they will be the ones filling it and they will soon tell you if they will allow it to be filled with breathing air.

But even if they did you would not get many usable charges from 183 bar so really is not worth the effort. I would just either use a pump or get a dive bottle which will be much more useful and safer.

the tank is 183bar ad the gun is an s310

Just a few hang ups here

1: the fill pressure of your gun and the cylinder you are filling from is the same i.e. you are not going to get more then one full fill out of your cylinder.

2: Oxygen cylinder use different valves to dive cylinders and you would be pushed to find an adapter for your filling kit

3: Dive shops will or can not fill a oxygen cylinder because of the different valve on it.

In short forget it sorry
