Guest buster321c
Why dont you get somebody with a .22 to go shooting with you and swap guns for the day , then see for your self . Got any permission ? thats not a bad idea just got to find someone, got permission but no mates lol friend of mine has a .22 spring but the fore sight is knackered and he doesnt have a scope i might try and pick up a .22 PCP dont mind having 2 rifles always have the use for them. my mate loves the shotgun but if i picked up a .22 then he could use one. we do share kit to spread the cost abit. anyone got one going max £250? I aint far away , see how you get on , maybe we could sort something out if you struggle to get someone Quote Link to post
Guest Scuba1
.177 v .22Heck is it Friday again already. :D ATB Michael has this already been posted didnt see it ? if so what was the post called Now this is just a wild arm flailing kind of guess, but most of them are titled what calibre or .177 v.22 or .22 v .177 I think. The domed or pointed ones are always worth a read as well. Only joking but they have been done to death mate. Here you go. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...howtopic=102625 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=93264 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=86645 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=16880 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=76801 http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=76801 Happy hunting Michael Edited May 30, 2009 by Scuba1 Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
ok, if you have the dosh buy a .22 keep the s200 and try both... i,ve had no problems with .177 in over 20 years, i did have a gripe with .22 on a number of ocations, but thats me and how i shoot.... .177 suits me and my needs to 60 yards on rabbits. even with rimmies and center fires yuo need to hit the spot... with 12fp's it realy is about how accurate you aare, and how well you get on with your chosen wepon.........................can you hit a wall nut? the size of the rabbit brain... verses the size of pea, the heart... s smaller than a walnut, plus you don't need to hit a rabbits heart with a chest shot, you can take the lungs into account too. The amount of disinformation on here is a real let down at times, there's nothing wrong with having an opinion, I just wish people wouldn't present they're opinions as facts.. a xtra strong mints a good practice target, as long as you hit central.. think the wall nut size refers to how much head can hit..(or de shelled..probably a fraction smaller). lung shots will work but if they get back in the hole it can make the others move out, then you lost one an had to find the others again.
