danebrewer10 6
Hi all, I just thought I might share my "new"discovery on cleaning your rifle, I have one of those standard jags for my HMR and it seems alright, but I think I read somewhere to wrap your patch around a brush in a spiral and push it through the bore that way, WHAT a difference! I use the napier rifle clean, and a thin strip wrapped around the brush cleans right down between the lands and gets out the crud that the jag was missing! as the bristles just push the patch right into the grooves... Just thought I'd share that with y'all for clean shiny bores! (also the cleaning material goes farther as well!) also, and now for something completely different... Had a mooch around lamping the other night , only got two bunnies, but I was pleased at getting a fox cub, really should have run away, I was making a hell of a racket..... right between the eyes at 50m.... psss-WOP! deader than dead... anyhow, something I've learnt.... 1) airgun lamps can't hack it- not enough penetration 2) some sort of rest/sticks are mandatory 3)I make too much noise 4) shooting is fun! and the HMR is a great bunny basher!
