hello and welcome beddie whippets make cracking little rabbit,rat,bushing dogs and the last 1 that i owned would retrieve as good as any gun dog on anything i shot atb

Unless the dog is steady to the flush then it will be of little use with the gun.

 

Every Beddy/Whippet I have seen have been excellent hunters and capable of filling the pot without the aid of a gun.

 

If your dog flushes and gives chase as it will, you will be unable to shoot anything for fear of missing behind and hitting the dog.

 

If you want a pot filler go with the BeddyX, if you want a dog to work with the gun then go for a recognised gundog.
