Fat-Ferret 857
I only started Long Netting at the end of the season this year and was getting a few each night, The farmer that owns one of the grounds we ferret in the winter wanted us to go up for a nights shooting as the place was coming down with young rabbits. Instead of boring shooting, Tonight I decided we would try the long net again, One drop, and we got 13 rabbits! I was very pleased, and it will keep the farmer quiet & the ferrets fed until we get up another night, Long Netting is definitely a very effective way to control rabbits, More people should be at it. Long Netting from peg to pegby Martin King has helped me a lot as well, Highly reommended book. FF Quote Link to post
Guest MIST NET
I must admit its the best book out on the subject (its got some nice pics too ), before being shown the traditional way of longnetting by Martin i used to use the basket system (now hung up gathering dust ) and didnt have a lot of success with it (my own fault too busy rushing around instead of taking my time). Now i peg as i go and enjoy every minute of it . MRD 3
I've been thinking of getting into Long Netting recently, never really thought about it before as i've allways been into Lamping, shooting ect. May seem a bit cheeky but if anyone needs a hand with longnetting and willing to show me the basics i'd be very greatful! In the mean time is there any books I should be looking at for a "novice"? Cheers MRD, Mark. Edited May 17, 2009 by MRD Quote Link to post

Fat-Ferret 857
As fat ferret says...Longnetting from peg to peg by Martin king (mole catcher on this site). Cheers, just bought a copy off Amazon should have it in a few days. Cheers. More people should be buying this book, reading the book it is obvious to see that Martin King is not only an absolute master of the Long Net and is very passionate about it, he is a great writer and I hope it is not the last run from the printing press he brings us.
