Guest reload
Trying to take the dog out on the lamp this week has been full off set backs, lamp breaking etc etc trying to lamp with one hand holding the lamp and one hand holding the wires together. I finally got out for a proper shine with the newly soldered lamp and a full charge in my dry cell and pocket of spares!! What looked to be not the most ideal of nights turned out reasonable, with plenty of runs and made me wish I had brought another dog to keep going!! The dog had to work hard as the first few fields are fairly hilly so if the bunnies went up they had a hard run and chance of a catch for the dog, if the went downhill the chances were worse unless picked out of the hedge!! Theses field really test a dog and to be honest my dog is to fast, as the cunning dog catches on these type of fields. The last few field were flatter with lots of ¾ growns and younger, but the jobs gotta be done and the young ones taste better fried up with some wild garlic which has now come out everywhere. Had some good runs of the young crops which old 'peter rabbit' had been eating semi circles into!! Gonna have a few more nights until it gets too hot as in heat not landowners. Keep hunting all!!
