  1. No pics to post. Fired one shot but to no avail. Season sstays open until January 2015 so I have time. Cheers
  2. No Morton. I have two dogs but they are both for flushing. If the dogs catch the rabbit on their own that would be fine, but for the most part I want them to flush into an open area where I can get a shot with the shotgun. The area is pretty thick with berry patches and weeds, so an open area is quite small, more like a shooting lane or opening in the brush. Even if I had a lurcher the rabbits would lose the dog rather quickly I think. I'll see if I can get some pics this week, if they are small enough; my pics are to large load
  3. I know most of you are no where near here but the season for rabbits opens on 7/1. I may go in the evening after work. I was just checking to see if anyone else was going. Any one live in California. Jackrabbit is open all year but the good tasting cottontail rabbits opens on the first. Cheers
  4. I had Reeves pheasants before. That cock bird was a mean S.O.B. He had a huge tail on him but everytime I went into the cage he would attack and he had some serious spurs, real long and sharp. We gave him to our taxidermist as some payment towards some animals. now he is on the wall. That ooughtta teach him.
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome. Walked a couple miles today with the dogs, 2 Decker terriers. My bitch Jiggy was able to catch a ground squirrel which turned into a tug of war with Mick my male. We were walking a fire road at a local regional park and it was covered in all sorts of tracks; deer, boar, coyote and bobcat where the easily identifiable ones. There was also fresh fox scat on the trail so they were close as well. Very windy so it was hard for the dogs to stay on a track. Cheers,
  6. Howdy My name is Jerrod, I found the site and liked what I saw so I joined. I saw the terrier/earthdog section and was tickled to see all the real dogmen. I hunt anything anytime I can. I love to hunt large blacktail and muledeer but most of the time I take my two Decker Terriers out and chase anything we can find; coons, opossums, rats, foxes, pheasant et cetera et cetera. Thanks for having me. Cheers
