  1. Hi mate.. I am new to hunting too and I sent polite emails to all local farms trying to het permission. I got a few replies, mostly that they have people already shooting. . I persevered and eventually got a bit of land to shoot. Most farmers need bunnies controlling and if you respect the rules and are polite you will get your permission in the end. . Good luck bud.
  2. Thanks... as a new shooter I was a little concerned about causing unnecessary suffering to my quarry but the scorpion is incredibly accurate in .177 and both rabbits were dispatched cleanly with headshots..
  3. Having just recently bought my first air rifle (bsa scorpion t10) I was struggling to get permission to shoot on farmland , but persistence paid of eventually and last nite I got to hunt for the first time. Turning up I spooked a few rabbits (not as lightfooted as I used to be) but I laid up downwind of where they obviously favour and waited. After a wait of 30mins or so I began seeing a few in the woodland and knew that if I stayed hidden and still they would venture to within range. Ended up taking 2 shots and 2rabbits and home before dark. Will be out again tonite.
