Hi, Have a Beretta 301, was wondering what the dangers are of dry firing without snap caps etc in the chamber? Is this likely to damage the firing pin or cause any other problems with the mechanism? Thanks

Just had a look Rake, is it the Bisley ground you shoot at? Looks like they've got plenty to keep you occupied there!

There are a few other clay grounds nearby but the ones I contacted didn't offer a clay only option, only 1to1 tuition or group bookings. If you know of anything let me know though, happy to try anything/anywhere. Enjoyed the sporting set up at Clunys so I will be returning to their as well. Cheers

Chees Rake. Shoot at Cluny Clays in Kirkcaldy. Seems quiet and well run, have a good time there. Nice looking gun from what Google shows me. I've only shot a Baikal 27 O/U but enjoyed it. Felt comfortable and handled well. Will probably try to get one of these when SGC comes through. Also fancy a classic SxS as well to pad my cabinet out more. Pity am only window shopping at the mo!

Hi all, Newcomer to a shotgun shooting here, having recently been taken clay pigeon shooting I immediately decided the sport was for me and rapidly filled out the SGC form and ordered a gun cabinet much to my other half's initial displeasure! Currently waiting for SGC to process so I can get round to buying my first gun and hitting some clays, hopefully followed by some live quarry. Joined this forum to ask some questions and benefit from the advice of those more experienced. Also a keen air rifle hunter having been shooting with these for over 10 years. Cheers!
