  1. Hello Adrian Prisk,

I do have the same CZ that you have in a .22 LR mine is in a 17 HMR and love this rifle. CZ is a very good make. I had no problems with mine shoots any HMR .Good all round rifle.I have a Carl Ziess 4.5 -14x44 scope mounted on top of it. I will put a photo of it for you to look at see what you think of the set. Enjoy your new rifle Happy shooting

  2. Savage is a good all round rim fire. I would look at CZ they are good to I have a CZ 452 American in 17 HMR .The scope is a Carl Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 MC. The CZ is better than the Savage out off the box. I can get on the Bulls eye every shot. I use my rim fire for vermin and for target shooting. If I were you I would try go to a shooting range and get to try some out if you could are know someone who has used it before I would buy a rim fire. You could end up not liking the Savage. This is just my thoughts. I have used my CZ a lot out off all the fire arms I have .I always go for the CZ. Hope this helps you out. Let us know what you get.

  3. Hello All,

I would go with the 1 in 8 twist it will shoot faster and you can go up to 77 grain if you like. The 1 in 12 in a slower twist and will only shoot 45 to up 50 grain. I have my own shop here in the US.I ask people that come into my shop what they will used the rifle. I always tell them 1 in 8 so you can shoot light weights and heavy weights. If you can find out what twist rate the shop owner ordered you can may change it to the 1 in 8 .It will be better for you all round rifle. If you need any more help please let me know hope this helps you out.

  4. Hello All,

I am a pro Gunsmith here in the U.S.A. If I was you I would get a set off gunsmithing screw drivers set which is made for firearms. The ones I used all the time are call grace . Please don't use any screw drivers that you have around the house these wont fit the screw wright and can do more damage. I have seen firearms that have been butchered up with people doing their fixes on firearms. Please be careful what you do with your firearm. If need more help please let me know. Hope this helps you

  5. Hello All,

I would take my rifle with you. If you get a chance to do some HFT course this will help you to range find distances practice makes perfect . Clubs are a good to join if you need help in getting a firearm to put on your F..A.C . Safe handling is a must if some thing goes wrong with your rifle keep barrel pointed down range . Have fun at the club you will make new friends and may get some new permission to shoot on land. When I joined a club in Northern Ireland I made new friends very quick and got to meet some nice land owners which I got some new land to shoot on. Please let us know who you got on would love to hear. Have a brilliant Sunday shooting and be safe. Safe shooting.

  6. Hello BorderFox,

If I was you I would go around farmers and get their permission to hunt on their land. I live in Bessbrook and knew a lot of farmer willing to help me get my .F.A.C .I had airrifle and 9 mm and a 45ACP all for target shooting in a pistol club. My advice is when visting these farmers dress up with out any cammo gear on look respectfull and dont be rude ,Say yes Sir and thank you Sir this will go a long way. If you have a car washed it and clean in side off it so when the farmer walks to you to your car he wants to see if your tidy and will respect his land and not to shoot up that any thing moves. I know some farmers around my area where I used to live might help you out.

  7. Hello Rimfireboy,

I have owned the Theoben Eliminator one in a .22 caliber and the other in a .25 caliber. These rifles both had 30/FT LBS. These rifle are very good for hunting and for plinking. My only problem with these rifles are very pellets fusy. You need to try different makes to see which one works well for your rifle.I dont know who many tins off pellets I went through trying out the pellets. My rifle like to shoot pointed and hollow point in H+N these had the yellow tin lid. You just have to try the rifle your self.I know after a day shooting your arms will be sore after cocking the break barrel all day with that much pressure. And one other thing you will need plenty scopes as well. I dont know how many scopes I went threw with these rifles to find which did not crack the cross hairs in the scope. If I remember I bought a Simmons White tail 3.5.x14x50 I think. I dont know what is on the U.K market in scopes. But you need one to stand up the recoil of the rifle. If you need any more help please let me know gladly help you out.

  8. Hello HarryRod,

I sold my Careers 707 MK2 too two of my brothers they live in Northern Ireland. I will asked them where to get parts for these rifles. I know they still have them one is .22 caliber in 80/FT LBS an the other is .25 caliber 80/FT LBS. I will speak to them tomorrow with the 5 hours differince. They told me a place where they took these rifle to get check out. Think when I was over last year it was one off the seals went. I will get you the address and phone number so you can chat with the owner off the shop in Northern Ireland. Will try and PM you with the information that I get from my brothers.

  9. Hello All,

Just a few thoughts on 223 ammunition that I sell in the shop for fox and coyotes

Federal 50 grain upto 69 grain, Hornady 40 grain Vmax 75 grain, PMC 50 grain UP TO 69 Grain, Remington 50 grain up to 69 grain, Winchester 45 grain Jacket Hollow Point up to 64 Power point plus some hunters comes in and said that Winchester 55 Ballistic Slivertip is the best for foxes. I know that every rifle is not a like. You just have to try and see what your rifle likes to shoot. I would try different makes see which one is best for your rifle.I would try and get some boxes and fir 5 shots into a target and see what groups best at the bulls eye this is what I do when someone comes to the shop to test which ammunition is best for his or her rifle. hope this helps you out a bit.

  10. I am a Gunsmith here in the U.S.A. I used Otis cleaning kit .It has cables rather than brass rods which I fine is better for barrel and the crown .Go to you tube and and type in Otis-technology. This is the best cleaning kit that you will ever need.I used it all the time on different fire arms thats comes into the shop.I have brass rods and brushes laying around the shop but I never used them.I use Otis all the time best cleaning kit out there.
