i think a dog must run according and I believe this comes from getting them out young, I'd say most on here miss half the season because of conditions so that's why there dogs can't work according.I used to run DH cross's every day through the winter no matter how hard the ground was, frozen plough or what ever, never had a dog miss work through toe or leg damage,in fact through out my life i,v had very little foot damage of any sort apart from the odd cut pad due to glass, cant believe what iam reading on here, the season's short enough as it is, maybe its time to take a long hard look at what your type of dogs your running, buster.

like I said run my dog anywhere orchards,ploughed and any weather. Guess summer hunting helps run hard ground.

google it mate.I have just remembered even darcy said in the book SCOOBY that he fed him on venison as it was one of the best sources of protein other wise he would of fed him rabbit lol

rabbits are higher in protein than beef,venison,pork,chicken. Is this not good for the dogs?Rabbit has got NO goodness in it all all for dogs they are a shit source of food for your running dog, go to the butchers and get the bits fat and off cuts of meat they throw away everyday, it's usually free because they have to pay to get rid of it, and trust me this is very good source of food for ur dogs, they turn fat straight in to energy where as if u feed ur dogs rice and pasta the dog has to transform the carbs in to fat and then in to energy hope this helps
