  1. Same up this way, we thought we were just being unlucky until last week we had a perfect night and fields to go at that normally produce 20's and we didn't see 10 so no chance of getting anywhere near 20.
  2. Not lookin for arguments and got no hardcore view. 8 posts maybe but 25 years in the field. Aren't forums for discussion and somewhere every side is herd and points taken.
  3. No mate not missing the point I have two boys and take them odd weekends wouldn't dream of showing them its OK to take a crowd that size ferreting. Yes they the future and should be shown properly or how are they to pass it on themselves
  4. First thing I'd say is don't stress on retrieving. All pups vary in progress I've a saluki/greyhound retrieving from 8 weeks yet a pup I bred myself took ages to start, make it fun for the dog and enjoy it yourself if you getting sick and snarling commands its gonna put it off. Good luck matey
  5. Yeah cheers D, an old timer on the greyhound circuit told me that a few weeks back but no joy will keep it going though. Tomo you must be doing it wrong lol
  6. Thanks fella's a lot of things make sense in sandymere's post, he's a very excited dog from the minute he see the muck boots.
  7. Getting texts and call for all round west about this, keep your eyes open fellas
  8. Anyone ever had trouble with cramp in there dogs, my saluki greyhound last few times out after a run seems to cramp up at first it was odd once last time out he cramped twice in 5 runs and that was obviously the end of that night
  9. Got to agree with mhopton and Sirius ferreting to me is being as quiet as possible with least amount of disturbance to the warren as possible. Not a family camping trip without the tent, if you want that sort of atmosphere and fresh air there are plenty of picnic area's to visit. Without giving anti's ammunition
  10. I've used a longnet for around 8 years and in the right place is unbeatable got mine from Brian Brinded easy to find on the net not the cheapest but great quality. My advice would be to practice on a local field you may look like a wally but better than missing any zig zag through middle then around the outside or like a stop sign on smaller setts
