has anyone had a non retrieving adult dog and got it to retrieve thanks for comments so far

just take 1 at time

Hi, I own a couple of lurchers. When lamping 1 will retrieve sometimes to 5 yards away and sometimes not at all. He won't chase a ball,but sometimes retrieves a dummy of rabbit fur wrapped around carpet. Tried the walk away. Once the rabbit seems to stop moving he lets go. Any tips His Greyhound X Whippet/Saluki. I purchased him as a adult. aged 2. He is the best dog of my 2 for catching by far. Any tips.
