Butzy

Have a ferret 6 months old. My buddy told me he's sapose to be working, killing and moving on. Found raw burrows not too far from my house and when i go to run him he goes in about a foot and comes back out. Only getting into the ferreting now so do anyone have any advise?? Will be much appreciated, Thanks
