Bootsha I have over 100 acres I let him roam. The place he came from was not fit any animal pretty much if I didn't take him he wouldn't have lived this long

Hi I have a 4 month old fox hound and was wondering has anyone used these as gun dogs or seen them in the field other than in a pack , I do a bit of rough shooting and was thinking of training or having him trained to be a gun dog. But am I wasting my time ? Or would he be suitable Any info would be appreciated thanks
