  3. Ok going to get some lighter pellets and have a play in a day or two. been pleased how it was going but bit surprised how they drooped. Not noticed any grating cocking it.

  5. Hi all, just been having a practice with new to me hw97. 25 yards tight group above aiming point , 35 yards pellets tight group surrounding aim point. 40 yards foot below aiming point, all done with Bisley Magnums. You did say change to a lighter pellet but not been shopping yet, would this help with this droop? Cheers.
  6. Just thought this type of gun would last a lifetime. Maybe save up for a pcp when ive had a bit of fun with this one. i'm told its v-mach tuned? So, lighter pellet needed? Thanks to all.

  8. Well after listening to all your good advice i've done completely the oposite and bought a HW97. Second hand. Bit of a play with it today. 30 yards improving and ended up getting 6 pellets within 4 or 5 inches of each other. Did'nt start like that but improving, trying to keep concentration up. Came with Bisley Magnums, apparently didn't like accupellets. Any tips to improve? Practice? Cheers for all your advice

  11. Anyone else comment on a BSA scorpion SE? £450 new? 177 or 22? BSA ultra 177 second hand £350. How many shots out of these? Are they just Spanish now? same as a Gamo?
  12. This is all getting very complicated, but all advice taken greatfully.
  13. Ok, hw 100 it is , just fancied a 110? A bit cheeper, but heard of problems. Have they got the barrel problems sorted? Or a BSA scorpion se second hand? Will put gun through business and get vat back so new is very tempting, will maybe leave it we have some cash in bank.
  14. Evening, been having a think and a talk to a few people including gun shops. If i push my budget a Walther rm8 varmint ? for just over £440 with scope and silencer new, or a hw 110? Yes pushing the budget but save up and buy better with warranty? Your thoughts appreciated.
  15. Just been on free ads gamo fox? no scope £200, should I be wary? need seals doing? Really like the idea of synthetic. To me this gun will be a tool of the job, no frills just effective hopefully.
  16. near York. Wanting to spend money wisely! OK 177 with heavy pellets? What type of pellets? Ok what make of scope? Want to get a few opinions before I try a gun shop and thought my money might go further in a private sale? Thanks for your opinions so far.

  18. Hi all, Wanting an air gun to use round the farm to shoot rabbits and other vermin, question is .22 or 177 with heavy pellets. This all seems to boggle me, just think I will need a pre charge. Most targets will be 40 yards I expect. Happy and most likely be second hand to bring the price down. Anyone got any good recommendations? This gun will be a tool of the job so very happy with synthetic stock Thanks in advance.
