  1. @Plasticjock. Im right with you mate. I was given two choices Army or family, Family won.
  2. LMAO. @socks, The only reason i dont have any other posts is ive only just come on to this forum. Doesnt make me anything over you guys that have been on here a while. So ive started with a post number 1??? so did you at some point. I wasnt teaching anyone to suck eggs, I responded to your post of the 5Ss, just gave my opinion. I mentioned a stand, not at fairs. you add stuff that havnt been said. say what you like. i would post a pic of me in uniform outside the sniper training wing but im sure you would say its not me. so i wont bother wasting my time.
  3. Even a Sergeant lol? lol Im crap with typing,
  4. @socks, im slow in responding as i have a wife chatting to me at the same time. She comes first (in every way) lol you are way down on the list. Ive been polite to you and i dont need to prove to you anything. @ Stealth1, that is a nice bit of woodworking. Mine is painted with army green spay for the stock and blackboard paint for the metalwork. the general public wont know that its not real or made of wood.
  5. @stealthy1, Not trying to get customers. Subject title "Advice Needed". Nowhere have i posted my websirte or HTML. Its all as it is, a simple question.lol :-)
  6. @Plasticjock, Chears, Its good advice. Its wood but its a very good model of a real gun if i say so myself. the only real bit is the scope and mounts. I was a Sargent and even I never claimed to be the best or to know everything. Anyone who does, doesnt. lol
  7. @socks, Sniper and spotter are the same thing; any sniper team can be stumbled across by a foot patrol. Smell can travel some distance (spend a few days in an OP and you will know about the smell lol). The point I was making was none of them are less important that the others, I gave them in no specific order as each of them will get you compromised. @ anyone else, Im not going to be teaching man hunters, if that’s what people want, join the army. No bell towers on my courses thanks. I refer back to the question about the law relating to having a model (lump of wood carved and painted) of a

  9. @socks. Lol I have always wondered why it was only 5’s, Shape, shine, shadow, silhouette, sound, and then there’s smell, speed, spacing (if on patrol) even shadows if you wanted to get real deeper about it. The wooden model is hand made by me and I think I made it too real looking. But I didn’t think a clear plastic gun would have the same impact on a show stand. I only need to ask because after 20 years of the MoD providing me with everything I needed without worrying about the public and the law, it’s much different on Civvi Street.
  10. @Lab-Tastic, lol you could put it like that. But having said that, i cant have a real rifle on a public stand to promote my business. Although I have private land to run the courses on over here, I also have private land in Canada that will form part of the training course. Lots of hunters over there that have the freedom that we don’t have here. So why do I need a rifle shape? Because its part of the course. I could just wear the Ghillie suit but it will be missing the image of what I will be providing.
  11. @Darkie. Yes, its called work and the pub. :-)
  12. @socks. The courses are 6 weeks long. I will be running a 1 day course on very basic cammo without any shooting. The real truth is most of the people who would use the sniper skills would be wildlife photographs, birdwatchers and the usual airsoft/paintballing lot. Its more about camouflage and concealment of person and equipment, stalking, hide building etc.
  13. I’ve just redeveloped my business teaching Bushcraft skills to include sniper training. I want to work on promoting my business in public places but have a bit of a problem with being able to have a wooden model of a sniper rifle on the stand. It’s surely going to be breaking the UK law relating to replica firearms in public. It can easily be displayed with a sign stating it only being a model and not real, but would that be legal? Any legal advice or suggestions would be most gratefully received.
