    Thanks for all the comments everyone. Jigsaw any pics of the sister or others from the litter? He is going to be a big dog, but he can wrong foot my beddy whippet in turning circles so I think he will be agile enough to get the job done.shanehound hope you like the pics.

    Jigsaw, would give my right arm for another like him, so someone will be lucky to get his sister. These aren't show hounds and have plenty of pace. I'm not working him yet but he has started to show an interest in the hares now. Time will tell.

    Badger is doiing well at 7mnths, 29inches and 30kg. starting to really get control of his legs and has taken to using Bess the Beddy Whippet as a training dummy. Great dog, very bright and easy going just a joy to hve around.

    Went to Highclere last year and had a great day out despite the rain. What are the details for this year?

    It makes you realise how some people have no backbone. I bought a pup on here unseen from across the water.big risk but the best decision I've made in ages. Trust is hard earned but easily lost. The problem is the more connected we all get and the further we can travel the more easily we avoid consequence catching up. Hope the other pup works out for you JP

    Just to let you know that Badgers doing well. Managed to grab these while I was pruning the Apple trees this weekend (seconds before he took one the hens for a carry...). The little bloke is growing so fast, it seems like every time I turn round he has sneaked another inch - now 25 at the shoulder. These pics show him sporting his new beard which he has been developing this week- the coat is going greyer by the day. He is also getting a spoon of codliver oil and malt extract every morning which seems to be helping. Will get some of him standing next to something for scale next time. ATB J

    No, But its an aspiration.. The photo comes from Google Images on a deerhound blog. Here is the detail from the page: The photograph comes from the Hounds of Hollyrood Kennels website (visit and browse), located in Kampaloops, British Columbia, Canada. That’s Hollyrood with a double El. I cannot vouch for this kennel still being active as their webpage has not been updated for some time. It is also possible the image may have come from Australia as other images on their fun page feature deerhounds in pursuit of a Kangaroo.

    There are some fellas on this sight who will help you out, if your serious. I dont think Shanehound has regular breeding plans but Doxhope will point you in the right direction if you ask nicely.

    The New Pup arrived this morning. A long trip from Ireland on the Transporter with Pat. He was a bit shell shocked and a bit dehydrated, but has perked up pretty quick and the Mrs is making a right fuss of this one. Of course you cant help but find yourself Day Dreaming about times ahead, retrieving shot foxes...:
