just seen how much you were offered the maverick for id have it only major probs ive had with them is rot but with 12months ticket it must be ok but would recommend a full waxoil if u get it

being a 4x4 mechanic i could tell you problems with any truck all day long buot depending on how much you want to spend depends on what would be better but as already suggested a discovery you wont go wrong with if you get an older one with the 200 or 300tdi engine the td5's can be troublsome but if you look at one check the body and chassis for corrsion boot floor sills and rear chassis around the suspension mounts my old man has one doing 35mpg and better on a run, a shogun is another safe bet but are quite thursty
