Nope not a bsa r10, nor a scorpion! just a little supersport! (sorry about the slightly large images) well, ive always had a keen interest in guns and the likes.. just a typical boy really! but a while ago, after struggling to get permission, and racing becoming more serious i put the gun away for a while, about a week ago i dug it back out after a year or so off and fired off the 10 or so pellets i had left, and suddenly i had the urge back! i made a few enquiries to getting some shooting land, and it turns out i have quite a few friends and landed myself a massive dairy farm, so then

and the biggest question of all! .177 or .22??
-
think my mind is set then! i take it the 'KT' is a carbine model?? is there anything i should watch out for when buying a second hand one? id probably get it from my local store rather than another person, unless theres a dealer on here!
-
well, im a mechanic by trade, so being hands on is kinda my thing, its more, the price of parts im worried about, like the s410 is a different material that rusts and needs 'bluing'??? im not sure, im edging towards the r10, but i know all 3 rifles are accurate, just the s410 needs to be handled more delicately with a lighter barrell and doesnt have the regulator? so shots pressure is all over the place?
-
would it be beneficial? are repairs exspensive? seems you can either get a good gun or a band one? so is it best to go brand new and have that warrenty back up? or is it not worth worrying about??
-
thanks for all your replies guys! all the points are being noted! but newxt.. brand new or second hand?? in either of the 3 rifles?
-
excellent! and from what ive read.. the 3-12 is probably the more suitable scope for hunting??
-
would those hawk scopes suffice the hunting world? or are there better options available per say?
-
ohhh... another load of money! so if you look at this, would the scopes suffice, or would i be better off getting it without the scope and buying third party? thanks for your input though! just trying to understand why it is a hw 100 is better, rather than just throwing a load of money at the hobby, kinda of like one of those "all the gear no idea" kinda people!

Well, I'm a keen air gunner, i suppose thats a good place to start! ive had a few springers through my life, now currently have a BSA supersport in .22, although very tidy gun, it just doesnt compare to my step dads old AA S410c , so ive been looking through forums at what guns are ideal, im after a pcp (hense the topic title) but im not sure what direction to go with it.. Ive read endless posts of the S410 being an amazing rifle... but then the barrels are thin with a low shot count and an iffy trigger? what is it about the triggers thats a bit sh*t? then i look at the BSA r10 which

you dont know how much i want to! but i dont think my mum would be keen on the idea of a shotgun in the house. but maybe when i move out -
Wow I wrote a catchy title but now don't know where to start Well i guess the start would be good, I first came to the forum looking for people that share the same interests as me and maybe learn a thing or too aswell. I was out on the forum posting (as you do) and 'The Duncan' gave me the oppertunity to go air rifle shooting with him, and he also had a spare 3-9 x 40/50 scope i could have which i was very grateful for. we tossed a few words between each other and was planning to go air rifle shooting together on one of 'The Duncan's' local permissions, but closer to the day,

thats probably it then, anyway to get the dirt out? or is it just a new seal? either way it doesnt look too exspensive and its a pretty old gun thats ben sat around for a while so the whole gun could probably do with new seals. buts its a pre 2006 model so the filling valves are different?
-
it was about 40, cocked it and filled, we usually fill to 190, seems the filling valve has gone so we will be getting a new one of those, possibly the new style. is there a site to get genuine air arms parts?

it sounds and looks like the small ball with the flat part on it, right on the tip

not sure where the right place is so if somebody could move it please hey everyone hopfully this will be sorted soon. but we ran into a problem, i filled the s410 and when i took the female hose from the bottle off air is leaking from the guns male valve (http://www.talarms.c...pter_female.JPG) (left valve on the gun, right on the bottle) whats the fix? a new valve?

Ha! no the woods are out of bounds, its part of the resovior, its a viewing place with a path to walk round and see birds etc, so birds are off limits, besides the pigeons crows etc. you shouldnt be jealous, it doesnt sound lik such a good thing to do anyway and i bet you outnumber my rabbits 500/1 ive shot 4, luckily all clean shots and no birds or tree rats too add to my tally yet

i have a picture of it, where should i post it? ill have to get it off my phone though.

wow thanks duncan! the camo is just going to be some cheap stuff like below but still better than nothing? as my dad is planning to come shooting with me when he is back from tunisia, his air tank is being sent away for a service as we speak! so he will want his camo back i guess http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400153743286&var=670002313641&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Season - they breed through til september. I'll also offer any guidance you want - I've been airgun hunting all my adult life, and now into rimfires and shotguns too. You are welcome to join me on my permissions and I'm happy to show you the full works -marksmanship, fieldcraft, cleaning shot quarry, skinning, butchery and cookery. It may speed up your learning curve (I had to work everything out for myself when I was younger and it took time!). Good first post though - well done on embarking on a fabulous, productive hobby ATB Duncan that would be amazing! but i b
