  1. hyia, my bitch doesnt quite try and kill me dog in the way youve described but i found for a while the safest thing was to muzzle her to prevent too much damage, once she realised she couldnt get hold of him she kinda of doesnt try (he has been patched up 3 times) ....however if your springer is a bit aggressive back that just leaves your bull open to the hairy side!! hope you can manage to get them to see eye to eye, waking them seperate is the obvious but that not going to help if you need them to be out in the open together...then the kindest thing is to re-home 1, gutting for you im sure!!

  2. my bitch can open every door in the house, they were levers changed them for round and she can even open that one into the sitting room, shes emptied the fridge twice and ate the contents, the butter ended up puked all over the house, she gets in the bathroom and eats soap....urm managed to get the top corner kitchen cupboard open and spread the contents around the house, have discovered she doesnt like cup a soup, front door is always locked, came home one day to a note saying if your dogs missing shes at mine, there she was chilling out at me neighbours, (other half in bed on nights) once got in me bedroomed threaded herself through the bedroom window (2nd floor) jumped into the yard out over the back fence and found the other half at the pub, she is a houdini really is no wonder she was picked up as a stray!!!! x;-)

  3. a sharpei set about my 2 a week or so ago, as previously said my bitch is muzzled cause i know what shes capable of so couldnt defend herself, i was kinda of thinking i cant do right for me dog here!! my dog saw it off, hes never aggressive dont know if its a dog thing an he knew she couldnt defend herself but they ran away with his mouth around its head, the bloke wanted me to apologise!!! apart from the fact his came to mine and my dog ended up with a tear on his shoulder....bloody paper skin!!!i couldnt believe it...his was clearly the aggressor not mine!!!!GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR x;-)

  4. sorry to here about lewys accident......i know it looks bad but my big lad has been nipped twice by the littleun and caused a fair bit of damage, she does a high speed nip but is skin is as you know like paper and has torn badly, what started as a small hole ended up looking like she had gone for him with a knife!! he has healed fine just with time!!! my bitch on the other hand who i think is staffy, whippetty, grey, colly type mix (or so ive been told!!) got ran over a few weeks ago, right under the car front to back, she hadlumps off all over stitches and staples everywhere, was given antibiotics and hibiscrub to wash her wounds, also was given some fuciderm gel to put on her wounds and shes healed lovely, bald patches all over but shes in one piece..

as my bitch nipped him a second time she is now muzzled whenever off her lead on walks, i think its the responsible thing to do!!! keeps him in one piece and any other dog we come across, she doesnt discriminate and would take anyting on!

hope [bANNED TEXT] hound makes a full recovery x;-)

  5. yeah shes all up to date with her jabs, will continue to use the wash till its all gone, i do think she is titaniuum plated or part cat, just when she got run over the car went totally over her and yeah she had grazes but apart from a couple of staples on the back of her head was pretty much unscathed. vet couldnt believe it!!

    anyway thanks for advice x;-)

  6. well i did fox hunting from being 8, obs with a horse not a running dog!! have had dogs all me life, large part springers, have had me first lurcher for over a year and the 2nd 6 months, they are just pets though, after having them i cant imagine not having 1 or a greyhound, beautiful loyal fantastically natured dogs x;-)

  7. Rats carry shitloads of germs, diseases and bacteria and a bite from a rat can easily get infected. A couple of days ago? How does the wound look now? After a couple of days i would expect to see swelling and/or redness which would indicate infection. If its clean, dry and there isnt any swelling i wouldnt worry. Just keep an eye on it. If its red or swollen you definately need to get it looked at.

If it had only just happened i would of advised differently but this happened a few days ago. Did you do ANYTHING at the time to clean or treat it?

    [/quot

happened on sunday, looks fine no swelling at all, washed it down and used some stuff the vet gave me for her wounds when she was run over, was like an antibac wash, course i didnt just leave her!! reason i was asking was a lad from work mentioned ulcers and i could only think they wouldve looked dark in colour but as she has a black mask and dark inside her mouth not sure how easy it wouldve been to see, like i said no swelling but will still keep an eye incase it changes

    alison x;-)

  8. hi all both my lurchers are rescues so dont actually do the whole hunting thing anymore....doesnt stop my young bitch wanting to kill and hunt everything in sight!!! she has brought me 3 hedgehogs 2 frogs a mouse and chased numerous cats, even went after some sheep once, she realised the error of her ways when i caught up with her!

anyway couple of days back a rat very foolishly came into my yard, the dog barely raised his head preferring to lie upside down on the settee where as the bitch was on it in a nanosecond, she killed it very quickly but not before it bit her and was hanging off her lip, do i need to be worried is there anything rats carry that could affect her???

having said that this is my girl who has jumped out me 2nd floor bedroom window before, ate rat poison and been ran over, she has survived all 3 things so maybe a rat bite is the least of her worries, just some one mentioned ulcers, thought if anyone would know you all would...

    thanks alison x;-)
