Cenarth boy

Hello folks I am a game fisherman, fishing for sewin and salmon on the River Teifi. Since retiring last year I have a lot of time on my hands and spend most of it in Cenarth. I would like to take up shooting as a new hobby but do not know how to start. Should I shoot some clays? I have never fired a gun before. How much should I spend on my first gun? What other kit will I need. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Cenarth Boy
