  4. hi iam selling my old webley sport i have spent £110 on this rifle all together shot a few bunnies with it and plenty of rats. it has a brand new SMK 4x32 scope also a brand new silencer worth about £30. its a great starting rifle with a manual saftey. it may need respringing and a the silecer needs to be fitted propley but overall all its a brilliant little gun in mint condition. abit of work and would be worth abit. PM me reasonable offers if your interested cheers.

  5. hey guys first write up so please be sympathetic ;)

I have been working at a dairy farm now for a couple of years and the farmer had known for a while i had an airgun so he asked me too go down to the second farm one night before dark and shoot the ferals off that were roosting and nesting in an old barn where he rents out stables.

i arrived at the farm at about 5pm and as soon as a got to the farm i noticed one feral on its own about 45 yards away scrating around in some shit and straw looking for nesting materials i think. well that was the first to be shot a clean shot through the head made sure it wasnt getting back up i chose to shoot this pigeon first as i knew it would flea if it saw any others fly out the barn.

i then walked over to the barn and and saw to my surprise another nine pigeons in the rafters i shot all these pigeons in about 3 minutes, because it was only about 25 yards high i a mixed my shots, head shots and chest shots, i found that the head shots were obviously cleaner kills but the chests shots seemed make the pigeons not flap as much through nerves etc :S dont know about that but thats what i thought anyways :/ unfortunately one droped stone cold dead with no flaping so its still thier now on the wooden rafter, thats why if i do get the picture up theres only nine on it insted of ten :D

i have a picture but not sure how to upload it any help would be appreciated.

  6. do not put the ferrets down the holes as the rats will have young at this time of the year and probs kick f**k out of ferrets me and my mate did it with his a few weeks ago and the ferret came out with more injuries then it was worth plus we dint even know if we killed the dirty little c**ts bcoz the ferrets wont pull them out the hole. best thing to do is set etheir a live rat trap in the hen house near the grain with grain inside it or if you know someone we terriers smoke then twats out and let the dogs have them? or if you actually saw the rats and they wernt scared of you borrow an air rifle and shoot the fuckers but chuckin the ferrets down has gote be a no no. it aint worth it mate, if you care about the ferrets dont do it especially if theres a few rats.

  7. aye another moron probably up to his eyes in drugs or [bANNED TEXT] not got nowere to hang around so i will just go and slaughter some of them birds in the lake cos if i get caught i will just blame it on a poor up bringing and the soft arsed judge will take pity on me sound familiar lads?

true mate true i couldnt agree more the justice system in this country for things like this just insnt good enough!!

  8. yeh but its always us the f****n us who get the f****n full throttle of the law and the f****n idiots who dont give a f**k carry on making it worse and worse for us all. sorry to hear about this topic but once again what can we do as hunters and proper air rifle users to prevent us all from getting a bad name i would like to hear from you all on this lads as it is really time sumert happend?

  9. good write up mate.

just wondering is your S410 a carbine or classic? because i have a S410 carbine and i seem to find that the range on it for shooting rats is superb what do you think?http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif

mines the carbine version i find the range excellant i use a mildot scope which ive done loads of long range target shooting and the ranges i can kill at are amasing the gun is the best thing i own never be without it and i recommend them to everyone :toast:

totally agree we you there mate i great rifle and recommend to all!!http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbs.gif

  11. try it an see,

dont know where ye live just now, but we had a bit olf mild weather here last week

so i wouldnae be surprised if ole ratty aint started breeding already, an rats wae babys are vicious

still, yell never know till ye try

well live in lancashire and its pissed down most of week and snowed were i live so?.......

i have done a fair bit of rattin in the past, using ferrets smokers an spades

the ferret gotta be the most exciting for me, tho the smokers do the job if used right

an diggin them oot wae a good marking dog is also fun, but ye do need a dog wae a half decent nose

like somebody else said, if ye try it, make sure ye are prepared, but aslong as ye use yer head an go prepared

dont see why ye cannae try it

well theres a jack russel ont farm which i rat we all time moving under bales, digging the rats out but shes a good ratter so will the ferrets flush the rats out or just kill them in the hole?

  12. try it an see,

  13. thinking of taking my ferret ratting on the farm were i work. would the rats seriously hurt the ferret as there is quite a few of them? is this even a good idea? and will the ferret flush the rats out or/and kill them down the holes? never done it before so help will be really appreciated :notworthy:

  14. i leant my rabbit stopper to a farmer and he loaded the CO2 cartridge in the wrong way, i managed to get the capsule out by heating up the barrel abit, but it now just hisses when i put in the capsule and it empty in about 2 minutes, will the seals be nakard? is it worth trading in the gun or paying for it to get fixed?
